Insurance & fees

Do I take your insurance?

Probably, if it is one of these. I am currently in-network with Aetna, Ascension (SmartHealth), Carelon Behavioral Health, Cigna, Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield of NJ, and Independence Blue Cross PA.

With insurance, you pay only your plan’s copay, deductible, or coinsurance. Not sure about your plan? Headway shows right away whether I’m in-network and what a visit would cost you.

Not on the list? You can pay the self-pay rates below, and I can provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement.

*On Headway’s page, click the Add insurance button on the right side.

ADHD evaluations

Adult ADHD: yes, with a process

Trouble focusing has many causes, and ADHD is only one of them. I start with an evaluation, not a prescription at the first visit.

  • Diagnosed as a child

If you have records or history from childhood, this is usually the quicker path.

  • New, suspected, or diagnosed elsewhere

These get a thorough evaluation. It may include QbCheck, a urine drug screen, and information from family or others who know you, and it often takes two visits. Getting the diagnosis right is what makes the treatment work.

Your first visit

How we figure out what’s going on

No referral is needed, and the first visit takes about an hour. You’ll leave with a plan.

  1. A thorough intake

After you book, you will receive an email with an intake form to fill out, including your medical history and medications. Many medical conditions and medications can look like psychiatric problems, so I don’t jump to conclusions.

  2. Understanding what you’re going through

You share as much as you’re comfortable with. You don’t need a diagnosis to be here.

  3. What I think is going on

I tell you what I think is happening and what I’d recommend: therapy, therapy with medication, or medication alone.

  4. Your options

I’ll walk you through some good options and you make the final call.
